Colonies are submassive to encrusting. Corallites are deep with very thin angular walls giving colonies a honeycomb appearance. Corallites are usually less than 7 millimetres diameter. Septa are few and widely spaced, paliform lobes are absent.

Colour: Dark colours, often with white upper margins to walls.
