This project aims to improve the current knowledge on the spiny lobsters’ habitat ecology and selection for optimal recruitment within the Seychelles waters. The selected survey sites are used to conduct the annual Participatory Lobster Monitoring Program (PLMP) prior to reopen the lobster fishery and the habitat survey will assist as a complementary element to the lobster fishery. Currently, the fishery is managed through seasonal closures and limited access.
